Available only in extralight casing with tan sidewalls. The extralight casing not only reduces the tire’s weight, but is also more supple, thus increasing the tire’s speed and comfort even further.
Compass 26″ x 1.25″ Elk Pass
If you are looking for the fastest, lightest 26″ tire ever made, this probably is it. It weighs just 178 g and uses the Compass Extralight casing and our ultra-sticky tread rubber for the ultimate in suppleness and cornering grip. Thanks to its ultralight weight and small volume, it also is a great spare tire for emergencies for those traveling off the beaten path with 26″ wheels.
Elk Pass crosses between Mount St. Helens and Mount Adams in the Cascade Range. The road is paved, but it has settled in places, and cracks have opened in the pavement. With these tires, you can set a personal best on the climb, yet roll down with the confidence that your tire will handle whatever the road throws at you. And thanks for their 30 mm width, the Elk Pass tires even can handle the occasional foray onto rough gravel roads.
(Only available with Extralight casing and tan sidewalls.)
The Elk Pass requires tubes. We recommend the Schwalbe SV11A tubes for these tires.
