SON 28 SL Generator Hub

The connector-less SL system makes wheel changes easy: No more wires! Using a special dropout on your fork, the electrical connection is automatic: One pole is routed through the axle (and your frame), the other through an insulated ring that mates with a corresponding, insulated ring on your dropout. Simply insert the wheel, and the light is connected. Even better, with no exposed wires, there is no risk of wires breaking or connectors coming off.

The SON 28 is the ideal generator hub for riders who like to charge their electronics on the move. The SON 28 puts out a lot more power at low speed than the SONdelux, yet you’ll hardly notice the additional resistance and extra weight.

We also offer rims and spokes to build a complete wheel with this hub.

Note: The SL system requires a fork with special dropouts that feature a built-in connecting plate. This generator hub is also available with standard connectors to fit all bikes.

Pro Tip: The barrels of some SON hubs are wrapped with blue tape. This protects the hub from getting scratched when the spokes are inserted. Remove the tape after you’ve laced the wheel!
